The Newsroom @ Everyday Lusaka Gallery

  • Everyday Lusaka Lusaka, Lusaka Province Zambia (map)

Join us in “The Newsroom” next Saturday at Everyday Lusaka Gallery for Kalinosi Mutale’s solo exhibition curated by Sana Ginwalla.

In a world overwhelmed by news, Kalinosi Mutale’s abstract works on paper, collage, and fabric prompt us to rethink how we perceive and interpret the stories we consume. By blending personal worldviews with his artistic vision, he reminds us that reality is never one-dimensional.

“The Newsroom” delves into pressing issues such as the Congo and Palestine conflicts, Zambia’s drought, and societal challenges. It explores the role of the civilian and the newsgatherer, asking: What is news? By whom? For whom? The exhibition encourages us to confront our own biases and acknowledge that our understanding is always partial. More than just an art show, The Newsroom is critical reflection on how we interpret the world around us, an invitation to participate in the ongoing transaction of meaning.

We are especially honoured to share that the exhibition text will be written by Gankhanani Moyo, Zambia’s UNESCO-recognised international expert and trainer on intangible cultural heritage.
