cafe's Lusaka

If you are a freelancer or student needing a change of environment, or simply on vacation but need to quickly jump online for something, you’ll need a welcoming space, a work-friendly environment or a comfortable place to get your work done. A delicate balance is often needed, coffee that is good and free wifi. Though a lot of places in Lusaka need to catch up on the FREE wifi, we have a list that will help in terms of ambience.

Here are 5 cosy cafes you can visit and get some work / studying done

Brew me coffee shop

Located on the eastern side of Lusaka at Garden city mall Brew me has a cosy set-up that feels like home with a long list of food and beverages to choose from. This chic and modern establishment sets the mood with its modern design, easy layout and comfortable seating. It has java if you need that coffee boost, but also has healthy green juice options should you want to have the healthy option. There is usually enough seating so no worries about making reservations in fear of not finding a place to sit. Efficient staff make working here pleasant and provides excellent Wi-Fi for those looking for a place to grab a meal and some coffee as they work.

Meraki café

This café with its signature teal decor has two locations, Centro mall in  Kabulonga and East park mall. Well known for its cake, Meraki offers a variety of food and beverages, to satisfy any cravings while you work away.  Its Kabulonga branch feels more like a lunch spot and its East Park Mall branch has more space for work. Both locations offer indoor and outdoor seating.

Zambean café
If you want to couple drive to the outskirts of town with a serene place to settle and work then this is the place to go!

The café offers a great ambience and the environment is conducive even for work meetings, brunch with friends or even solo dates. Its lush garden with trees providing good shade does the trick. It is a must-visit and provides a variety of fresh food which come in really large portions! Don't forget to try the beef burger wrapped with bacon, fries and salad while you're there. ( oh and don’t forget to wander the antique shop!)

Vida e caffé

Vida is the perfect location for people wanting to work in a place with a BUZZ. With two locations at Pinnacle mall in Woodlands and East Park Mall , this cafe intrigues with its friendly staff that shout ‘WOZA WENA!’( isiZulu )  when a new customer walks in ( some people love this, but some people find this distracting). All orders are made at the counter with great tasty sandwiches and pastries on offer. It is very conducive for breakfast and getting work done.

Majuju café

Located at Novare Twinpalms mall, Majuju café offers great sitting space to work diligently and enjoy a beverage and food from their great menu. With excellent Wi-Fi and great sandwiches on offer, iced coffees and smoothies, this slower-paced cafe is great for comfortably working, meeting with friends or even on a solo date.
